Key Largo is the gateway to the Florida Keys – one of America’s true wonders. It is also home to John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, which features the largest living coral reef in the United States.
Here at Dove Creek Lodge you can fish offshore or backcountry, explore shipwrecks, or leisurely snorkel along the warm colorful reefs. Your adventures are limited only by your imagination.
Fishing
The sun rises and your spirits follow, as you set off for a thrilling day in the fabled Sport Fishing Capital of the World. The fresh salt spray hits your face as you ply the ocean waters in early-morning serenity.
At Dove Creek Lodge, you can bring own boat and dock at in our protected cove marina at one of our 10-floating boatslips, or rent a boat onsite. We also have the most experienced guides and captains, as well as deep-sea fishing charters at your disposal.
OFFSHORE
The waters of the Gulf Stream pass just a few miles offshore from Dove Creek Lodge and provide the big game fisherman with a constant parade of target species. Your quarry is as varied as the colors of the ocean – sailfish, dolphin (mahi-mahi), tuna, wahoo, king mackerel – and the legendary blue marlin.
BACKCOUNTRY
Dove Creek Lodge is blessed with an abundance of backcountry fishing. Within minutes of our docks are some of the best bonefish flats in the Keys. Equally accessible is a dizzying array of backcountry flats, islands and channels with great redfish, snook, permit and tarpon fishing. You could spend a lifetime exploring all the water around the Lodge.
REEF FISHING
Grouper and snapper are often the catch of the day for the saltwater angler fishing between the shore and the reef line. Delicious red and yellowtail snapper are two of the favorite fish to catch for dinner all year long. Reef fishing is ideal for the angler who plans to bring home dinner.
Diving & Snorkeling
Gear up for the adventures awaiting you in the Dive Capital of the World. The fabled Florida Keys offer warm clear turquoise waters for year round world-class diving adventures. Explore the sparkling waters that abound with vibrant coral reefs, and exciting shipwrecks filled with over 1,000 varieties of colorful tropical fish.
Dove Creek Lodge is located immediately adjacent to world famous John Pennekamp Sate Park, which features Molasses Reef – arguably the most popular dive destination in all of North America.
SCUBA DIVING
At Dove Creek Lodge there are scuba diving adventures for novice divers and challenging dives for true experts. You can test your diving expertise to depths of 134 ft at the the USS Spiegel Grove – a 510 ft US Navy transport ship, or take a leisurely dive with family and friends and enjoy nearby French Reef, Grecian Rocks, The Elbow or even Pickles Reef.
SNORKELING
Key Largo offers some of the very best snorkeling in all of the Florida Keys. We are just a few short minutes from Molasses Reef (it’s light house is visible from our oceanfront lobby), and the Christ of the Abyss Statue, which is one of the most famous and visited underwater sights on earth.

The Florida Keys is world famous for its calm clear bay and ocean waters that are absolutely perfect for all types of boating. You can bring your own boat and dock at our protected cove marina, or rent a boat onsite to venture out for a day of fun on the water.
